DALLAS (Ticker) -- A couple of Dallas Stars made sure they remained part of New Jersey Devils' history.

Bill Guerin scored a power-play goal and set up Jason Arnott's insurance tally as the Stars ended the Devils' 13-game unbeaten streak with a 2-0 blanking.

Marty Turco continued his resurgence with 21 saves for Dallas, which has won three straight and four of five following a seven-game winless streak. It was the first shutout of the season for Turco, who recorded seven last season.

"It's certainly nice," he said. "We are not going to be perfect every night. I just want to be ready whenever I get out there."

Turco has given up just six goals in his last five starts after surrendering 19 in his previous five.

"We are playing a lot better, playing more like a team," he said. "It's important for this hockey team to be on the same page daily."

The Devils had gone 10-0-3 since October 25 but settled for only a share of the record for the longest unbeaten streak in team history. New Jersey also became the last team in the NHL to suffer a road loss (5-1-3).

"It's like we lost a playoff game," New Jersey center Scott Gomez said. "That's that makes the Devils special. We want to win every game. Most teams would be satisfied, but we're spoiled. We expect to win tomorrow and get another streak going."

Guerin spent parts of seven seasons with New Jersey and was a member of the team that compiled a 6-0-7 stretch from January 24-February 20, 1997. Arnott played for the Devils from 1998-2002 and centered the No. 1 line when the team won 13 straight games from February 26-March 23, 2001.

"I think it's a big measuring stick in where this team is going," Guerin said. "We can play like that. We can play with the best teams in the league."

Dallas had an early goal disallowed when officials ruled Brenden Morrow kicked the puck past goaltender Martin Brodeur.

But Guerin made it four goals in as many games and put the Stars ahead for good 10:16 into the second period. Pierre Turgeon passed out of the right corner to Guerin, who whipped a one-timer past his former teammate for his 15th goal.

"Didn't even see it, just felt it hit my stick," Guerin said of the pass. "He made it hard and put it right on my tail. The pass beats the goalie and just did the job."

Turco helped Dallas kill three power plays before Arnott put a rebound past Brodeur, who denied Guerin seconds earlier.

"What a save," Guerin said. "I was just mesmerized by the save that Marty made."

Brodeur stopped 19 shots but had a personal 12-game unbeaten streak stopped.

"We had a great run. It was eventually going to come to an end," New Jersey left wing Jay Pandolfo said. "Dallas played good defense. We had our chances in the second half of the game but couldn't convert."
