Columbus Blue Jackets down to Nashville Predators 2-4 Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2003 Preview | Boxscore NASHVILLE, Tennessee (Ticker) -- Scott Walker scored twice in his return to the lineup as the Nashville Predators kept the Columbus Blue Jackets winless on the road with a 4-2 triumph. Sidelined by a groin injury the previous six games, Walker snapped a 1-1 tie with a power-play goal with 88 seconds left in the first period. With Geoff Sanderson and Jaroslav Spacek in the penalty box for the Blue Jackets, Nashville defenseman Marek Zidlicky fired a cross-ice pass to Walker in the left faceoff circle. Walker one-timed the feed by goaltender Marc Denis. "When you are 5-on-3, you want to move the puck quickly to not let the defense set up," Walker said. Walker beat Denis on a shorthanded breakaway 5:48 into the third to give Nashville a 4-1 lead. "I really don't feel like I'm where I want to be," he said. "I don't really have that first step yet." Adam Hall and Vladimir Orszagh also tallied for the Predators, who extended their home unbeaten streak against the Blue Jackets to seven games (6-0-1) and have won six of their last eight games. "The good thing was we didn't play our best game and we still won," Nashville coach Barry Trotz said. Rick Nash scored his team-leading 13th goal for the Blue Jackets just 1:44 into the game and Manny Malhotra added his second in as many contests. But Columbus fell to 0-8-1-1 on the road to remain the only team in the NHL without a win away from home. "It's an issue when you haven't won," Columbus coach and general manager Doug MacLean said. "The last few games, we've played better. It's going to come." The Blue Jackets have just 26 road wins in their 3 1/2-year history. Tomas Vokoun made 26 saves for Nashville while Denis stopped 29 shots.
