PHILADELPHIA (Ticker) -- Mark Recchi single-handedly sparked the Philadelphia Flyers to another home win.

Recchi had two power-play goals and an assist in the final 5:39 of the second period as the Flyers extended their unbeaten streak to eight games with a 3-1 victory over the Minnesota Wild.

After neither team scored in the first 34 minutes, Recchi quickly recorded his 100th career three-point game, helping Philadelphia remain one of two NHL teams without a home loss (8-0-2).

"It is early in the season, but we are more focused on the details and doing the right thing," Flyers coach Ken Hitchcock said. "We are really making the right decisions. We are doing a lot of things well."

Recchi opened the scoring on at 14:21, taking advantage of a 5-on-3 power play after Minnesota defensemen Andrei Zyuzin and Nick Schultz received penalties 19 seconds apart.

"I thought that we were doing well until that time," Wild coach Jacques Lemaire said. "As soon as they got the two-man advantage, they took over."

"JR (Jeremy Roenick) just made a nice cross-crease pass. It made them scramble," Recchi said.

Minnesota tied it just 2:42 later on Alexandre Daigle's power-play goal. But Recchi created the go-ahead tally with 98 seconds to go, skating down the right side before setting up Tony Amonte, who sent a low wrist shot past the glove of goaltender Manny Fernandez.

The 35-year-old right wing capped the flurry 66 seconds later with his team-leading eighth goal.

"We really played a smart hockey game," Recchi said. "(The Wild) thrive on you making mistakes; we didn't make any. We got some opportunities on the power play and we took advantage of it."

Robert Esche made 22 saves en route to his sixth consecutive win for Philadelphia, which outshot Minnesota, 41-23.

Roenick helped set up both of Recchi's tallies and leads the team with 11 assists in 18 games.

Fernandez was challenged throughout but was dominant in the first period, stopping all 16 shots he faced. He made 15 saves in the second period but struggled in the final minutes.

"I knew it wasn't going to be easy," Esche said. "When you come to Philadelphia you expect hard hits and you'll get stuck in your zone for a while."

Minnesota has just three losses in its last 11 games after dropping six of its first nine.
