LOS ANGELES (Ticker) -- With the help of a pair of tough guys, Roman Cechmanek picked up his 100th career win.

Sean Avery and Kip Brennan scored and Cechmanek made 30 saves for his third shutout of the season, leading the Los Angeles Kings to a 3-0 blanking of the Nashville Predators.

Avery totaled a team-leading 60 penalty minutes in his first 15 games and had 120 in 39 games last season. He staked the Kings to a 1-0 lead 4:03 into the contest, then received a game misconduct for boarding just over seven minutes later.

Brennan collected 22 penalty minutes in four games but capped the scoring 4:47 into the second when he deflected defenseman Lubomir Visnovsky's shot.

Avery's penalty gave Nashville one of its six power plays. But Cechmanek helped kill them all, stopping eight shots in the first period, 15 in the second and seven in the third for his 23rd career shutout.

Michael Cammalleri had the other goal for the Kings, who improved to 13-5-2-1 all-time against Nashville.
