NASHVILLE, Tennessee (Ticker) -- While one streak came to an end for the Vancouver Canucks, the most significant one remained intact.

Brendan Morrison scored in his fourth straight game and Markus Naslund added three assists as the Canucks extended their unbeaten streak to nine games with a 4-3 triumph over the Nashville Predators.

Scott Hartnell took advantage of a turnover by defenseman Marek Malik 7:45 into the contest, giving Nashville the lead and ending Vancouver's string of scoring first at 12 games.

Hartnell intercepted a clearing attempt at the blue line and carried to the high slot, where he unleashed a slap shot that slipped between the pads of Vancouver goaltender Johan Hedberg.

The teams traded power-play goals later in the first period before Jason King netted his third goal in two games in the second, knotting the contest at 2-2.

Trevor Linden snapped the tie early in the third with a power-play goal, and Morrison tallied midway through the period to extend his points streak to nine games.

Standing in the low slot, Morrison was able to deflect a shot by Naslund past Nashville goaltender Tomas Vokoun for the game-winner.

"Nashville is a quick team that works extremely hard," Linden said. "We didn't get off to a great start, but we got the breaks, and the power plays really helped."

Both of Vancouver's power-play goals were on two-man advantages, and King's tally came just one second after a Nashville penalty expired.

"Other than the penalty trouble, we played a pretty good game tonight," Nashville coach Barry Trotz said.

Hedberg stopped 23 shots for the Canucks, who won their fifth straight and ran their string of consecutive games with three or fewer goals allowed to 13.

"We weren't great in the first period, but we did pick up our game in the second and third," Vancouver coach Marc Crawford said. "We're happy to get out of here with the two points."

Vokoun took the loss, dropping his record to 4-6-1.

"The only reason we lost the game was because of me," a disappointed Vokoun said. "As a goaltender, you have to make a difference, and I made a difference in the wrong direction."

Scott Walker added a power-play goal for the Predators, who fell to 1-6-1 in their last eight games.

"We've got to come up with a victory," Trotz added.
