ST. LOUIS (Ticker) -- After Doug Weight spoiled Jean-Sebastien Giguere's shutout bid, Keith Tkachuk spoiled the rest of the goaltender's night.

Tkachuk scored off an odd-man rush with 31 seconds left in overtime as the St. Louis Blues rallied for a 2-1 triumph over the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim.

Giguere has struggled since winning the Conn Smythe Trophy last spring, losing six of his first seven decisions while posting a 3.02 goals-against average. But he took a shutout deep into the third period in just his second start in two weeks.

"I felt pretty good," Giguere said. "I have been struggling of late, but there were a lot of positives tonight. I wanted to have a good 60 minutes, and I had that."

Weight tied it with 5:19 to go in regulation. His wraparound attempt was foiled, but Weight tracked down the puck in the left faceoff circle, turned and wristed a shot between Giguere's pads for his sixth goal of the season.

"I just swung at the puck and I believe it went under his stick," said Weight, who has four goals in his last three games. "Fortunately, it ended up in the net."

"There was a lot of traffic and he turned around and threw it at the net and just squeezed it in my pad," Giguere said.

Tkachuk matched Weight for the team scoring lead after a turnover by Sergei Fedorov sprung the Blues on a 3-on-1. Tkachuk never relinquished the puck, blasting a shot from the top of the left faceoff circle that ticked off Giguere and found the net.

"It was a bad guess by me," Giguere said. "As a goalie, you do not want to start guessing. You do that when things are not going your way. It is a lesson learned."

"I did not see the winger in center ice and they took it in quick," Fedorov said.

It was Tkachuk's 22nd goal in 41 games against Anaheim and got him off the hook after double-minor for spearing gave the Ducks a four-minute power play in the third period.

"Naturally, I was praying that they would kill it off," Tkachuk said. "Thankfully, we have good penalty-killers out there and they gave us a chance to win the game."

Brent Johnson stopped 24 shots, helping St. Louis to its fourth win in five games.

"He has had two really strong efforts," Blues coach Joel Quenneville said of his goalie. "He is showing patience in the net and letting things come to him. He is controlled, comfortable, and the team responds in kind."

Defenseman Sandis Ozolinsh scored the lone goal for the Ducks, who have lost three straight following a three-game unbeaten streak. They fell to 2-2-0-1 on a six-game road trip that concludes Saturday in Phoenix.

"They are a good team and we're trying to become a good team," Anaheim coach Mike Babcock said. "We've changed our players so dramatically, and it is a battle for us. We have to continue to find ourselves. We have to turn the corner, but we just went .500 on a road trip. For a team that started 0-4, things have gotten a lot better."

St. Louis had a 19-8 advantage in shots during a scoreless first period, but the Ducks grabbed the lead 65 seconds into the second.

Vaclav Prospal pushed the puck to the left point, where Ozolinsh let go a one-time slap shot that went through the legs of Blues defenseman Bryce Salvador and handcuffed Johnson.

"We played a patient game," Johnson said. "We did not let anything bother us. They got a goal in the second period and we did not let it rattle us. We played good team defense all the way through. Patience will win a game and anything can happen."
