MIAMI (Ticker) -- The Philadelphia Eagles' offense is playing so well, even Freddie Mitchell is throwing touchdown passes.

The Eagles' wideout heaved a 25-yard scoring pass to running back Brian Westbrook, highlighting Philadelphia's ninth straight win, 34-27 over the reeling Miami Dolphins.

Philadelphia (11-3) scored 30 or more points for the third time in four weeks, accumulating 401 yards of offense. Donovan McNabb passed for 236 yards and Westbrook totaled another 104 from scrimmage.

"We have some guys on this offense who can make plays," Westbrook said. "We have some good running backs, a great quarterback. Our tight ends make plays, and as a group our receivers come through. That's what makes our offense so strong."

Miami (8-6) had rallied from a pair of deficits before Mitchell took a lateral toward the left sideline from McNabb, stepped to his right and launched a long spiral down the right side of the field.

Westbrook had 1-on-1 coverage with linebacker Zach Thomas and leaped over him to make the grab near the end zone. His momentum carried him in for his second TD of the night as the Eagles grabbed a 24-17 lead with 26 seconds left in the first half.

"I saw Brian working against a linebacker and I knew that all I had to do was get him the ball," said Mitchell, who had two catches for 30 yards. "If I put it up there, I knew he would come down with it."

The Dolphins tied it 5:16 into the second half on a three-yard TD run by Ricky Williams, but Correll Buckhalter answered seven seconds into the fourth quarter with an acrobatic touchdown.

Buckhalter ran toward the right sideline and darted toward the end zone at the 5-yard line, leaping from the 3 and hanging the ball over the pylon before his momentum carried him out of bounds.

An official originally ruled Buckhalter out at the 1, but Eagles coach Andy Reid challenged and the call was reversed.

The Dolphins had a couple of chances to tie, one after Matt Turk avoided a blocked punt by scrambling 23 yards for a first down, but the drive stalled at the Eagles' 42 with 9 1/2 minutes to play.

After Miami's defense forced the Eagles to punt, Michael Lewis intercepted Jay Fielder at Miami's 32 with 2:26 remaining.

"Our defense stepped up when they needed to and made big plays," said Reid, whose team yielded 398 yards, 177 rushing.

Reid's offense set the tone with a 59-yard pass from McNabb to Todd Pinkston on the game's first play from scrimmage. Two plays later, Westbrook scored on a 21-yard run.

McNabb also connected with James Thrash on a 44-yard reception before scoring on a one-yard run, making it 14-7 late in the first quarter. A 28-yard pass interference call on safety Arturo Freeman helped set up Buckhalter's score.

"It was important for us to stay aggressive and challenge them," Reid said. "They have a very good secondary, with quite a few Pro Bowl players, but we still wanted to go after them and challenge them."

With its ninth consecutive win, Philadelphia moved a step closer to clinching a third straight NFC East Division title.

The Dolphins are headed in the opposite direction. They dropped their second game in a row and fell one behind Denver for the second wild card spot in the AFC. The Broncos also hold the tiebreaker with two games remaining.

"It's do or die," Thomas said. "We have to win them both to even have a chance, but I'm not going to worry about what other teams do. We just have to win."
