SEATTLE (Ticker) -- Matt Hasselbeck and the Seattle Seahawks were in no danger of blowing a big lead on their home turf.

Hasselbeck completed 26-of-35 passes for 328 yards and three touchdowns as the Seahawks improved to 7-0 at home with a 34-7 rout of the Cleveland Browns.

Darrell Jackson had eight catches for 102 yards and two touchdowns, Koren Robinson six receptions for 122 yards and Shaun Alexander 27 carries for 127 yards and a score for Seattle (8-4), which remained one game behind first-place St. Louis in the NFC West and moved into a tie with Dallas for the first wild-card spot.

It was the first time in team history that the Seahawks had a 300-yard passer, two 100-yard receivers and a 100-yard rusher in the same game.

"We still haven't played our best game yet," Alexander said. "We're not even close. We laugh on the inside, but it's almost scary if the NFL knew how good we could be, but they don't."

Last week, the Seahawks blew a 17-point lead with seven minutes remaining before losing at Baltimore in overtime, 44-41. Hasselbeck tossed a career-high five touchdowns in the defeat.

This time, Hasselbeck gave Seattle the lead for good on the opening drive of the game, capping an eight-play, 74-yard drive with a two-yard TD toss to tight end Itula Mili just 3:19 into the contest.

Following a fumble by Browns quarterback Kelly Holcomb at the Cleveland 33, Seattle opened a 10-0 advantage on a 36-yard field goal by Josh Brown six minutes into the second quarter. The Seahawks took a 17-0 lead into the break on a three-yard pass from Hasselbeck to Jackson with 4:41 left in the half.

"The defense was hurt last week. Their pride was wounded," Seattle coach Mike Holmgren said. "They bounced back and I felt they would. They were a little bit angry all week. They were very focused and they played like they had something to prove."

Cleveland (4-8) trailed, 34-0, before finally getting on the board on Andre King's 28-yard return of a punt that Seattle's Tom Rouen kicked off one of his blockers.

The Browns, who have lost five of their last six games, were outgained on the ground, 157-43, and 463-214 overall. Cleveland possessed the ball for just 21:21.

Seattle converted 11-of-17 third-down opportunities while Cleveland was successful on just 2-of-10.

"It was the one time in the 2 1/2 years (I've coached the team) that both sides of the football team were out of sync and out of rhythm," Browns coach Butch Davis said. "Every time we had opportunities on defense on third downs to try to get them out, they converted. Offensively, we had some trouble running the ball and with protection."
