ORCHARD PARK, New York (Ticker) -- Andre Johnson broke a pair of tackles, then ran into the end zone to break the hearts of the Buffalo Bills.

Johnson scored the only touchdown of the game on a 46-yard pass from backup quarterback Tony Banks in the second quarter to lead the Houston Texans to 12-10 win over the Bills.

The Bills (4-6) could have taken Johnson down, but cornerback Nate Clements and linebacker London Fletcher failed to complete their tackles. Safety Pierson Prioleau tried to catch the rookie receiver, but was unable to prevent Johnson from giving Houston a 6-5 lead.

"It was a slant route and I caught the ball and I saw a bunch of guys coming at me," Johnson said. "So I just tried to protect myself. I stumbled out of it, and when I looked up, all I saw was the end zone, so I just kept running."

Kris Brown added a pair of field goals for the Texans (4-6), whose defense did the rest in adding to the offensive woes of the Bills. Buffalo has gone three straight games without a touchdown.

"I'm so mad, I don't know what to do," Bills quarterback Drew Bledsoe said. "We come in and work hard, try and do everything we can during the week to get prepared to play and score points offensively, and we haven't done it."

Rian Lindell kicked two field goals, but also missed a pair for the Bills.

"I don't work at the grocery store," Lindell said. "I go out and kick field goals, and when that doesn't happen, it's embarrassing."

Banks came into the game in the first quarter after Houston starter David Carr bruised his right shoulder. Carr was injured when he was taken down by linebacker Jeff Posey in the end zone and fumbled for a safety.

"I'm concerned because it's my (throwing) arm," Carr said. "But it could have been worse. We'll see how it is tomorrow, but it should be alright."

Carr was 2-of-4 passing for 12 yards before he left. Banks completed 11-of-16 passes for 207 yards and one interception.

"Tony did a nice job of going in and running our football team," Texans coach Dom Capers said. "I like the attitude, the effort and the determination of our football team today."

Bills running back Travis Henry cracked his right fibula in the second quarter, but stayed in the game to carry 23 times for 149 yards.
