Detroit Lions at Seattle Seahawks

Recap | Boxscore

SEATTLE (Ticker) -- The Detroit Lions have been a traveling nightmare. That could spell trouble heading into Sunday's game against the Seattle Seahawks.

The Lions have lost 20 straight road games, the third-longest streak in NFL history. Only Buffalo (22) from 1983-86 and the Houston Oilers (23) have had more dubious streaks.

Detroit has not won away from home since a 10-7 victory over the New York Jets on December 17, 2000. The Lions have dropped their four road games this season by an average of 10.5 points.

While the Lions have been abysmal on the road, the Seahawks have been flawless at home this season, winning all five of their contests. But Seattle is just 1-3 away from Seahawks Stadium.

Last Sunday, the Seahawks' road struggles continued with a 27-20 loss at Washington. Matt Hasselbeck completed 19-of-29 passes for 241 yards and Shaun Alexander carried 22 times for 94 yards in the defeat.

Seattle, which is tied with St. Louis for first place in the NFC West, plays three of its next four games on the road following this contest. That stretch concludes with a road contest against the Rams.

In addition to trying to stop their road skid, the Lions are looking for their first three-game winning streak since November 2000.

Jason Hanson kicked a 48-yard field goal with 39 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter, lifting the Lions to a 12-10 victory over the Chicago Bears last week.

In his 12th season with the Lions, Hanson has converted all 13 of his field goal attempts this season, including four in the win over Chicago.

The series is tied, 4-4.
