PROVO, Utah (Ticker) -- Not even the elements could slow Boise State.

Ryan Dinwiddie threw two touchdown pass to Tim Gilligan and ran for another score as the Broncos routed Brigham Young, 50-12, in a game played in a steady snowfall.

Boise State (8-1) posted its sixth straight win and has scored 172 points in its last three games. Last week, the Broncos drubbed San Jose State, 77-14, setting a school scoring record.

BYU continued to struggle under coach Gary Crowton as the Cougars (4-6) are in jeopardy of finishing with consecutive losing seasons for the first time since 1971-72, the year before LaVell Edwards took over the program.

Brigham Young must win its final two games against Notre Dame and Utah to finish at .500. It has dropped back-to-back home games by a combined 108-25, its worst two-game stretch here since 1955. Prior to a 58-13 loss to Colorado State on October 9, the Cougars had not allowed more than 50 points at home since 1922.

Boise State got touchdowns from its special teams and defense as Cam Hall recovered a blocked punt in the end zone and Wes Nurse returned an interception 42 yards for a score to make it 21-2 with 10:11 left before halftime.

BYU, which recorded a pair of safeties, held Boise State's potent offense somewhat in check for almost three quarters and closed to 28-12 on Taufi Vakapuna's one-yard run with 2:04 left in the third.

But the Broncos scored touchdowns on their next three possessions to turn the contest into a rout. Dinwiddie threw a 28-yard TD strike to Gilligan to make it 28-2 before the duo hooked up for a 27-yard score late in the fourth quarter.

Dinwiddie completed 12-of-23 passes for 247 yards with an interception. Gilligan grabbed eight passes for 209 yards.

BYU's Matt Berry completed just 7-of-18 passes for 35 yards and was benched after throwing three interceptions. His replacement, Todd Mortensen, was 5-of-24 for 51 yards with an interception.
