ANNAPOLIS, Maryland (Ticker) -- Craig Candeto, Kyle Eckel and Navy are in fine form heading into their annual showdown with archrival Army.

Candeto ran for 150 yards and three touchdowns and Eckel rushed for 167 yards and two scores as Navy routed Central Michigan, 63-34.

The Midshipmen (8-4) gained 530 yards on the ground - despite possessing the ball for just 23 minutes - and came just two points shy of matching their modern record set against Princeton in 1953.

Candeto completed both of his pass attempts to Eric Roberts for 105 yards, including an 86-yard strike that gave Navy the lead for good, 14-7, with 7:57 left in the first quarter.

Roberts also ran four times for 93 yards and a score for the Midshipmen, who had five different players accumulate their eight rushing touchdowns.

Navy led, 28-7, after one quarter and 42-21 at the break.

The Midshipmen are off this week before playing Army in Philadelphia on December 6.

Jerry Seymour had 33 carries for 154 yards and Derrick Vickers went 20-of-28 for 233 yards, three touchdowns and one interception for the Chippewas (3-9), who ended their season on a three-game losing streak. Central Michigan dropped eight of its final nine games.
