SYRACUSE, New York (Ticker) -- Rasheed Marshall passed for 271 yards and three touchdowns as West Virginia continued its resurgence with a 34-23 Big East Conference victory over Syracuse.

Marshall, who completed 14-of-25 passes, threw TD strikes of 24 and 67 yards to Chris Henry in the fourth quarter, when the Mountaineers pulled away.

West Virginia (7-4, 5-1) posted its sixth straight win following a 1-4 start and remained tied with Miami and Pittsburgh atop the Big East. But because of tiebreakers, the winner of next week's game between Miami and Pittsburgh likely will decide the Big East title and a BCS bowl berth that goes with it.

The Mountaineers snapped a 17-17 tie on Brad Cooper's 25-yard field goal with eight minutes left in the third quarter. Henry's first TD reception made it 27-17 with 9:25 remaining in the game.

Syracuse closed to 27-23 on R.J. Anderson's 67-yard TD pass to Walter Reyes with 6:13 left. But Marshall and Henry hooked again just 71 seconds to clinch the victory.

Quincy Wilson, who run for 208 yards and four TDs in last week's 52-31 win over Pittsburgh, rushed for 105 yards on 19 carries against the Orangemen (5-5, 2-4) to increase his season total to 1,335 yards, which ranks fourth on West Virginia's all-time list.

Anderson completed 23-of-36 passes for 336 yards and two TDs for Syracuse, which tied the contest, 17-17, on Collin Barber's 25-yard field goal with 11 seconds left in the first half. Reyes was held to 63 yards on 14 carries.

Syracuse needs to win one of its two remaining games against Rutgers and Notre Dame to become bowl eligible.
