CHAPEL HILL, North Carolina (Ticker) -- Chris Douglas rushed for 119 yards and a touchdown and Cedric Dargan added a pair of one-yard scoring runs as Duke snapped a 13-game losing streak against North Carolina with a 30-22 victory.

The Blue Devils (4-8, 2-6 ACC) outscored the Tar Heels, 23-0, in the first half but needed to hold on in the final minutes to beat their archrivals for the first time since 1989.

Duke finished 2-3 under interim coach Ted Roof and concluded a season with at least four wins for the first time since 1998.

The Tar Heels (2-10, 1-7) managed just one first down in the first half and finished with their worst record since going 1-10 in 1989.

Matt Brooks had a pair of field goals to give Duke a 6-0 lead after the first quarter. In the second period, Dargan scored his TDs around a 42-yard field goal by Brent Garber.

Darian Durant rallied North Carolina in the second half, tossing a 17-yard TD pass to Wallace Wright and scoring on a 10-yard run to pull the Tar Heels within 23-15 early in the fourth quarter.

But Douglas' one-yard TD plunge gave Duke a 30-15 advantage with 12:32 remaining. Durant capped the scoring with a 31-yard TD pass to Jacque Lewis with 5:35 to go.
