COLUMBIA, Missouri (Ticker) -- Quarterback Brad Smith rushed for 136 yards and three touchdowns as Missouri coasted to a 45-22 Big 12 Conference victory over Texas A&M.

By beating the Aggies for just the second time in eight meetings, Missouri (7-3, 3-3) remained alive for the Big 12 North Division title. The Tigers holds a tiebreaker edge over Nebraska and visits Kansas State next week.

Smith committed four turnovers in last week's 21-16 loss at Colorado but quickly bounced back as Missouri built a 16-0 advantage in the first 5:36. Smith opened the scoring with a seven-yard scamper and added TD runs of 19 and nine yards.

Zack Abron added 141 yards for his fourth 100-yard effort of the season. He also had a two-yard run for his 39th career touchdown that broke the school record set by quarterback Corby Jones from 1995-98.

The game never was close as the Tigers took a 22-6 lead into the locker room and scored 23 points in the second half. Smith's final TD made it 31-9 and Damien Nash added TD runs of 14 and nine yards in the fourth quarter to seal the win.

Coming off a 77-0 loss at Oklahoma that was the worst in school history, the Aggies (4-7, 2-5) are assured of their first losing season since 1982. They also will complete coach Dennis Franchione's first season by going winless on the road for the first time since 1982.

Dustin Long replaced a struggling Reggie McNeal and completed 21-of-27 passes for 241 yards for the Aggies.
