CHAPEL HILL, North Carolina (Ticker) -- This time, Andrew Walter gave Arizona State a fantastic finish against North Carolina.

Walter threw a five-yard touchdown pass to Skyler Fulton on the game's final play as the Sun Devils posted a stunning 33-31 victory over the Tar Heels.

Last season, North Carolina went into Tempe and pulled out a 38-35 triumph, taking the lead for good on a touchdown pass with just under three minutes left. Arizona State committed five turnovers in that game and missed four field goals.

In the rematch, the Sun Devils (4-3) took over on their own 39-yard-line with 36 seconds left. Walter set up the game-winner with a 42-yard completion to Derek Hagen.

Walter completed 34-of-58 passes for a season-high 408 yards after throwing for 474 in last year's setback to North Carolina. Hagen had 11 catches for 185 yards and one touchdown.

Hakim Hill's eight-yard TD run staked Arizona State to a 27-17 advantage with just over six minutes left in the third quarter. Ronnie McGill's one-yard TD plunge and Darian Durant's one-yard TD pass to Jacques Lewis gave North Carolina (1-6) a 31-27 lead with 7:43 left to play.

Durant completed 13-of-23 passes for 167 yards and a touchdown for the Tar Heels, who dropped to 0-4 at home.
