MORGANTOWN, West Virginia (Ticker) -- Quincy Wilson rushed for 177 yards and three touchdowns on 40 carries as West Virginia rebounded from a last-second loss to Miami to defeat Rutgers, 34-19, in a Big East Conference contest.

Wilson, who had a 33-yard TD run in the final minute of the Mountaineers' 22-20 loss to Miami, opened the scoring with a 20-yard TD run with 11:51 left in the first quarter.

After the teams traded field goals, the game turned right before the end of the first half, when West Virginia was merely trying to run out the clock.

With the Mountaineers facing a fourth down, Rutgers called a timeout with four seconds left, thinking West Virginia was going to punt. But it backfired as Rasheed Marshall tossed an 83-yard TD strike to Chris Henry as time expired to make it 17-3 at the intermission.

Wilson scored on a four-yard TD run four minutes into the second half to give West Virginia (2-4, 1-1) a 24-3 cushion, then tacked on another four-yard TD to make it 31-13 early in the fourth.

Marshall completed just 7-of-15 passes for 187 yards with an interception for the Mountaineers.

Ryan Hart completed 17-of-28 passes for 188 yards with a touchdown and two interceptions for the Scarlet Knights (3-3, 0-2).

Justise Hairston rushed for 115 yards on 27 carries for Rutgers, including a one-yard TD run with 7:09 left in the third quarter.
