Connecticut Huskies down to North Carolina State Wolfpack 24-31

RALEIGH, North Carolina (Ticker) -- Freddie Aughtry-Lindsay bailed out North Carolina State.

Aughtry-Lindsay intercepted Dan Orlovsky's pass and returned it 56 yards for a touchdown with five seconds left as the Wolfpack edged Connecticut, 31-24.

North Carolina State (4-3) took a 24-10 lead into the fourth quarter before Connecticut (4-3) made a late charge. Orlovsky tossed a 31-yard touchdown to O'Neil Wilson with 5:57 left and, after a defensive stop, threw an 11-yard TD to Shaun Feldeisen with 1:29 left.

The Huskies forced a three-and-out before Aughtry-Linsday picked off Orlovsky, who was trying to get his team in position for a possible game-winning field goal.

Philip Rivers completed 23-of-42 passes for 234 yards, two touchdowns and an interception and T.A. McClendon was held to 32 yards on 12 carries for the Wolfpack, who were meeting the Huskies for the first time.

Orlovsky went 21-for-39 with 299 yards, three touchdowns and one interception while Chris Bellamy carried 29 carries for 166 yards filling in for the injured Terry Caulley.
