Auburn Tigers over Vanderbilt Commodores 45-7

NASHVILLE, Tennessee (Ticker) -- Auburn found its offense in time for the start of conference play.

Jason Campbell passed for 220 yards and two touchdowns to Jeris McIntyre as the the Tigers routed Vanderbilt, 45-7, in their Southeastern Conference opener.

Touted as a national championship contender in many publications, Auburn was shut out in its opener against Southern California and managed just a field goal in last week's loss to Georgia Tech.

Auburn posted its 12th straight victory over Vanderbilt dating to 1955 and tied the all-time series at 19-19-1.

The Tigers (1-2, 1-0 SEC East) scored their first touchdown in 10 quarters this season when Campbell threw a 31-yard strike to McIntyre that made it 7-0 with 12:03 left in the first half.

Carnell Williams' three-yard TD run and John Vaughn's 21-yard field goal gave Auburn a 17-0 halftime lead.

Vanderbilt (1-2, 0-2 SEC West) closed to 17-7 on Jay Cutler's 39-yard TD pass to Erik Davis 2:48 into the second half. But the Tigers answered just 54 seconds later on Campbell's 67-yard toss to McIntyre. Campbell completed 12-of-19 passes.

Ronnie Brown's one-yard TD run just 2 1/2 minutes later made it 31-7, before Tre Smith tacked on TD runs of one and 10 yards in the fourth quarter.

Cutler completed 10-of-20 passes for 121 yards for the Commodores, who were outgained, 483-221.

The Razorbacks featured a balanced attack, passing for 264 yards and rushing for 219.
