Indiana Hoosiers lose to Connecticut Huskies 10-34

EAST HARTFORD, Connecticut (Ticker) -- Connecticut celebrated the opening of Rentschler Field with an impressive victory, routing Indiana, 34-10, behind Dan Orlovsky's three touchdown passes.

Orlovsky completed 26-of-42 passes for 307 yards for the Huskies, who drew 38,109 in the first game in their new facility.

Terry Cauley rushed for 166 yards and a touchdown on 22 carries for Connecticut, which rolled up 507 yards of total offense and never trailed.

Orlovsky threw TD passes of 16 yards to O'Neil Wilson and 12 yards to Shaun Feldeisen in the first half, helping the Huskies build a 17-3 lead at the intermission.

Orlovsky and Wilson hooked up again for a nine-yard TD 1:59 into the second half before Matt Nuzie's 21-yard field goal made it 27-3 with 7:02 left in the third.

Wilson caught eight passes for 92 yards and Feldeisen added six grabs for 73 yards.

The Hoosiers got their only TD on former Notre Dame quarterback Matt Lovecchio's 30-yard strike to Glenn Johnson with three minutes left in the third quarter.

Lovecchio, who was sacked five times, completed just 13-of-29 passes for 211 yards.

The Huskies posted their fifth straight victory after ending last season with four straight wins to conclude the year at 6-6.
