ORLANDO, Florida (Ticker) -- No. 16 Miami Ohio looks to match its longest in-season winning streak in 30 years on Friday when the RedHawks close the regular season against Central Florida.

Miami, tuning up for next week's Mid-American Conference championship game against either Bowling Green or Toledo, defeated Ohio, 49-31, last week for its 10th straight victory.

Ben Roethlisberger threw four touchdown passes for the RedHawks, who have not won 11 in a row in the same season since going 11-0 in 1973. The perfect season was part of a 23-game unbeaten streak that extended through the first game of the 1975 campaign.

Miami (10-1, 7-0 MAC East) also is looking to tie a school record for wins set by the 1973 and 1975 teams, who each won the Tangerine Bowl.

Roethlisberger completed 19-of-28 passes for 294 yards in only three quarters against Ohio. He has passed for 3,532 yards this season, breaking the previous school record he set last year. Roethlisberger also tied his Miami record for completions in a season with 280.

The RedHawks, who boast the No. 2 offense in the country, set school marks for points (448) and yards (5,286) in a season. Martin Nance established a school record with 1,097 receiving yards.

Miami suffered a 48-31 loss to Central Florida last season in the only previous meeting between the teams as Ryan Schneider passed for 374 yards and three touchdowns for the Golden Knights.

Schneider and coach Mike Kruczek are no longer with Central Florida (3-8, 2-5), which is completing a turbulent first season in the Mid-American Conference.

Kruzcek, Central Florida's coach since 1998, was fired on November 10 after more than a half dozen players, as well as Schneider, were dismissed for a violation of team rules.

The Golden Knights have dropped three straight, including a 21-7 loss to Marshall last Wednesday.
