WACO, Texas (Ticker) -- No. 24 Oklahoma State looks to tie a school record for regular-season victories Saturday when it visits Baylor in its Big 12 Conference finale.

The Cowboys' previous nine-win regular seasons came in 1984, 1987 and 1988, and each of those teams finished with 10 victories after winning bowl games.

Oklahoma State (8-3, 4-3 Big 12 South), which will be making consecutive bowl appearances for the first time since 1987-88, hopes to end the regular season with a two-game winning streak.

"We want to finish strong to defeat Baylor," Cowboys coach Les Miles said. "We want to finish strong to be the best football we can be. I think it would be inappropriate to look at a finish for any other reason other than to be our best football team."

After suffering back-to-back blowouts to top-ranked Oklahoma and Texas, the Cowboys rebounded last week with a 44-21 win over Kansas. Third-string running back Vernand Morency stepped in for injured Tatum Bell and rushed for a career-high 269 yards and three touchdowns.

Morency recorded the ninth-best rushing total in Oklahoma State history, and only four Cowboys have run for more yards in a single game. Barry Sanders had five games with 293 yards or more.

Bell, the Big 12's leading rusher averaging 124 yards per game, did not play against the Jayhawks due to an ankle injury and his status for this weekend is uncertain.

Rashaun Woods caught four passes for 43 yards to become the first receiver in Oklahoma State history with three 1,000-yard seasons. This year he has 60 receptions for 1,019 yards.

Baylor (3-8, 1-6) concludes a long season under first-year coach Guy Morriss, although the Bears did defeat Colorado in October for just their second Big 12 victory since 1999.

Baylor suffered a 41-3 loss at Oklahoma last week, its sixth straight setback. While the Bears gave up three touchdowns to Jason White and behind 24-0 in the first quarter, they did sack the Oklahoma quarterback five times.

Freshman Shawn Bell completed 16-of-30 passes for 108 yards for Baylor, which has lost seven straight to Oklahoma State, cutting its lead in the all-time series to 11-10.
