ATLANTA (Ticker) -- The Cleveland Cavaliers' road miseries continue.

Shareef Abdur-Rahim had 26 points and nine rebounds to lift the Atlanta Hawks to a 92-83 victory that extended the Cavaliers' road losing streak to 29 games.

"Wins on the road are hard, especially for a young team," Cleveland center Zydrunas Ilgauskas said. "They don't come easy, even for the Lakers."

Jason Terry added 19 points to help the Hawks bounce back from Friday's 114-75 loss at San Antonio.

"I was proud of the team the way they came back after last night's game," Hawks coach Terry Stotts said. "This is our fourth win on the second of back-to-back. Our team showed resiliency. I am especially proud of the way Shareef stepped up after last night's loss."

"I came out focused and I just made it in my mind to come out with a lot of energy and hopefully, the guys would feed off that," said Abdur-Rahim, who had 16 points at San Antonio.

Ilgauskas contributed 21 points and 10 rebounds, Ricky Davis added 16 points and rookie LeBron James had 15 for the Cavaliers, who have dropped three in a row overall. Cleveland's last road win came on January 12 at Seattle.

The Cavaliers shot just 33 percent (29-of-88) as James went 3-of-16 from the field. Darius Miles, replaced in the starting lineup by rookie Jason Kapono, was 0-of-11. Kapono scored 13 points in his first NBA start.

"They just made shots and we didn't," James said. "I can't even tell you. Sometimes it seems like we are a team and sometimes it seems like we're not."

Chris Mihm also got a starting nod in place of DeSagana Diop but had just four points after averaging 11.2 and 7.2 rebounds in his previous five games.

A jumper by Terry with a minute left in the third quarter gave Atlanta a 73-66 lead and sparked a 15-0 run that extended into the final period. Chris Crawford's jumper with 6:58 remaining capped the spurt and the Hawks their biggest cushion, 85-66.

"We got stops and we got in transition," Terry said. "This team has to be successful in transition to win."

Abdur-Rahim scored 12 points in the first quarter as Atlanta built a 24-20 lead.

"I was just rushing to the post," he said. "A lot of my points came from going to the post early."

Ilgauskas' layup with 3:35 left in the second period put Cleveland in front, 41-40. But Atlanta answered with a 12-3 run and never looked back. Kapono's buzzer-beating 3-pointer gave the Hawks a 52-47 halftime lead.

Terry committed a flagrant foul on James with 1:41 left in the third quarter. The Hawks guard appeared to be going for the ball but raked the rookie across the face. James was down on the court for a few moments before making two free throws to get the Cavaliers within 70-64.

James was 9-of-10 from the line.

"Every night I go out is a learning experience," he said. "I'm just trying to learn. Every night I can go out and just help myself the next day."

Cleveland was lethargic in Friday's loss but seemed more energetic in this one. James consistently attacked the basket, but the Cavaliers were outscored in the paint, 44-26.
