SACRAMENTO, California (Ticker) -- Allen Iverson found it difficult to carry the offense with a bum shoulder.

Hampered by a shoulder injury, Iverson was clearly not himself and unable to lift the Philadelphia 76ers past the Sacramento Kings, who had five players in double figures in a 100-89 triumph.

Iverson strained his left shoulder in Thursday's practice and underwent an MRI. With forward Glenn Robinson serving a season-opening three-game suspension, the three-time scoring champion knew the burden of the offense was on him.

Although Iverson scored 27 points, he did not look like his superstar self. In the first half, he shot a handful of airballs and was stripped by Bobby Jackson. Overall, he was just 10-of-23 and committed six turnovers.

Without Iverson at his best, the smallish 76ers really had no chance against the Kings, who have won the last six meetings between the teams.

Sacramento closed the second quarter with a 14-3 burst to take the lead for good and had an 8-2 spurt late in the third quarter to open a 78-63 lead. Philadelphia never got within single digits thereafter.

Peja Stojakovic scored 28 points and Jackson added 18 off the bench for the Kings, who have used raucous Arco Arena to turn back LeBron James and Iverson in their first two games.
