Philadelphia 76ers at Orlando Magic

Recap | Boxscore

ORLANDO, Florida (Ticker) -- A pair of playoff teams from a year ago conclude their respective losing seasons on Wednesday when the Philadelphia 76ers visit the Orlando Magic.

Philadelphia and Orlando endured rocky seasons as both teams plummeted to the bottom of the standings. The 76ers reached the Eastern Conference semifinals a year ago before losing to Detroit and the Magic fell in seven games in the first round, also to Detroit.

However, Philadelphia's problems began with a myriad of injuries, particularly forward Glenn Robinson, who has played only 42 games this season. Star guard Allen Iverson also got hurt and the 76ers fired coach Randy Ayers and his replacement, Chris Ford, clashed with Iverson.

At least Philadelphia stayed in the playoff race until the final days of the season. Orlando suffered through a 19-game losing streak after winning the season opener and fired coach Doc Rivers. In addition, NBA leading scorer Tracy McGrady suffered from left knee tendinitis late in the year and will wind up missing the final nine games for the Magic, the worst team in the league.

Orlando ended a 13-game losing streak with Monday's 93-84 victory at Chicago. The Magic have lost seven straight home games.

Philadelphia has won two of the three meetings with Orlando this season.
