Recap | Boxscore

DENVER (Ticker) -- The Denver Nuggets begin a season-high five-game homestand on Saturday when they host the struggling Seattle SuperSonics at the Pepsi Center.

The Nuggets have played five of their last six games on the road before coming home, where they are 10-2 this season for the fourth-best record in the NBA.

Denver has dropped four of its last seven games overall after a dramatic 101-99 road loss to the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday.

After rookie Carmelo Anthony made a pair of free throws to tie the game with 2.6 seconds left, the Nuggets lost when Kobe Bryant buried a jumper from the top of the key as time expired.

Anthony finished with 24 points and Voshon Lenard added 14 for Denver which, needs one more victory to match its win total from last season.

Seattle fell a season-low two-game under .500 with an 87-73 loss to the San Antonio Spurs on Friday.

The Sonics never recovered after a woeful first quarter in which it scored just nine points on 3-of-21 shooting.

Ronald Murray scored 15 points and Rashard Lewis - the team's leading scorer - managed just seven points on 2-of-8 shooting as Seattle lost for the seventh time in nine games.

The Nuggets posted a 99-98 victory over the Sonics on December 17 after Anthony banked a shot off the glass with six seconds remaining.
