AUBURN HILLS, Michigan (Ticker) -- The Detroit Pistons can extend their home winning streak over the Seattle SuperSonics to six games on Friday at The Palace of Auburn Hills.
The Pistons have won their last five home games against the SuperSonics, who have not posted a win here since December 5, 1997. They have won 16 of the last 20 meetings with Seattle at The Palace.
The Sonics split two meetings with the Pistons last season, but have lost seven of the last nine overall games between the teams.
Detroit has dropped three in a row for the second time this season after a 95-86 road loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers on Thursday.
Richard Hamilton scored 19 points and Chauncey Billups - the Detroit's leading scorer - was held to 11 on 5-of-14 shooting. The Pistons allowed the Cavaliers to shoot 54 percent and were outscored in the paint, 46-22.
"We're playing losing basketball right now," Detroit center Ben Wallace said. "I take the blame. It's my fault for letting a lot guys come out there and give a (half-hearted) effort."
Detroit is trying to avoid its first four-game losing streak since April 2-8.
Seattle is hoping to salvage the finale of a four-game road trip after Wednesday's 126-112 loss to the Boston Celtics.
Ansu Sesay scored a career-high 19 points and Ronald Murray had 14 of his 16 in the fourth quarter as the Sonics nearly rallied from a 31-point deficit before suffering their fourth straight defeat.
Rookie Richie Frahm added a 14 points for Seattle, which tied a franchise record with 17 3-pointers on 41 attempts. The Sonics have 38 3-pointers in its last three games.
The Sonics have eight of their last 11 games and have not lost five straight since a six-game slide from February 3-15.
