HOUSTON (Ticker) -- The Houston Rockets aim for their first five-game winning streak since March when they host the surging San Antonio Spurs on Thursday in the front end of a home-and-home series.

The Rockets, who visit San Antonio on Saturday, extended their winning streak to four games with a 93-91 triumph over Portland on Tuesday. Houston also won four in a row from November 3-11.

Cuttino Mobley scored 24 points, Yao Ming added 16 and Steve Francis 15 for Houston, which has not won five games in a row since March 5-16. Francis hit a go-ahead jumper with 20 seconds left, and the Rockets held on after Yao missed a pair of free throws with nine seconds left.

The Spurs extended their season-high winning streak to four games with a 102-77 rout of Portland on Wednesday.

Tim Duncan contributed 18 points and 14 rebounds and Rasho Nesterovic and Tony Parker added 17 points apiece for San Antonio, which shot 49 percent and limited Portland to 33 percent.

The Spurs won the final three games between the teams last season, but are just 1-4 vs. Midwest Division foes thus far.
