Golden State Warriors at Minnesota Timberwolves

MINNEAPOLIS (Ticker) -- The Minnesota Timberwolves aim for a fourth straight victory when they host the Golden State Warriors on Tuesday at the Target Center.

The Timberwolves went 4-1 on a recent five-game road trip, which ended with a 96-94 triumph over the Los Angeles Clippers on Sunday.

Kevin Garnett hit a jumper over Elton Brand at the buzzer to win the game for Minnesota, which is playing its only home contest in an eight-game stretch.

Latrell Sprewell scored 27 points and Garnett and Sam Cassell added 24 each for the Timberwolves, who rallied from a 15-point deficit with eight minutes remaining. Cassell, who scored 15 points in the final seven minutes, also had 10 assists and Garnett grabbed eight rebounds.

The Warriors posted a 104-92 home win over the New York Knicks on Saturday for their fifth win in seven games. Reserve Brian Cardinal led seven players in double figures with 19 points and Golden State shot 53 percent.

Golden State is beginning a stretch in which it plays six of its next seven games on the road, where it is 1-5.

Minnesota went 3-1 against Golden State last season. The Timberwolves have won six of the last seven encounters here.
