Recap | Boxscore

ORLANDO, Florida (Ticker) -- The Orlando Magic try to avoid becoming just the fifth team in NBA history to lose 20 consecutive contests when they host the Phoenix Suns on Monday at the TD Waterhouse Centre.

On Saturday, Orlando became the sixth team to lose 19 in a row and the first since the Vancouver Grizzlies in 1996 after falling at Dallas, 110-97. If the Magic lose to the Suns, they will tie the 1972-73 Philadelphia 76ers and 1993-94 Dallas Mavericks for the third-longest slide ever.

The 1995-96 Grizzlies and 1997-98 Denver Nuggets share the all-time mark of 23.

Tracy McGrady scored 27 points to pace Orlando.

The Suns slipped to 1-1 on their four-game road trip with a 99-88 setback at New Jersey on Saturday.

Shawn Marion contributed 25 points and 17 rebounds and former Net Stephon Marbury added 23 for the Suns, who trailed by 15 points entering the fourth quarter before taking a brief one-point lead. The Nets closed the game on a 14-2 run.

The Suns had opened their trip with a franchise-record 29-point comeback at Boston on Friday despite losing forward Amare Stoudemire to a sprained ankle in the second quarter.

Penny Hardaway, who spent six seasons with the Magic, made just 4-of-12 shots at New Jersey.

Phoenix swept both meetings from Orlando last season to snap a three-game losing streak in the series.
