New Orleans Hornets at Chicago Bulls
8:30 pm
Recap | Boxscore

CHICAGO (Ticker) -- The Chicago Bulls try to win consecutive meetings with the New Orleans Hornets for the first time in six years on Saturday at the United Center.

The Bulls lost 16 of 18 meetings with the Hornets before shooting a season-high 59 percent en route to a 109-106 victory in the first meeting between the teams on November 8.

Chicago has not won back-to-back games in the series since the 1997-98 season, when it took three of four meetings from the Charlotte Hornets. It has a 37-28 edge in the all-time series.

The Bulls have dropped eight of their last nine games, the latest an 83-82 loss to the Philadelphia 76ers on Thursday.

Jamal Crawford scored 22 points and Eddy Curry added 16 and 10 rebounds as Chicago fell to 1-1 since acquiring Antonio Davis and Jerome Williams in a six-player trade with the Toronto Raptors over the weekend.

The Bulls played without forwards Scottie Pippen and Eddie Robinson. Pippen did not make the trip due to a left knee injury and Robinson sat out with the flu.

New Orleans had its two-game winning streak snapped with an 84-73 home loss to the Houston Rockets on Friday.

Reserve Darrell Armstrong scored 17 points and Baron Davis had 16 and 11 assists for the Hornets, who made a season-low 28 shots and matched its lowest score of the season.
