LOS ANGELES (Ticker) -- The Indiana Pacers try to snap the Los Angeles Lakers' 24-game regular-season home winning streak on Sunday when the league's only undefeated road team visits the Staples Center.
The Pacers, who have the NBA's best record at 14-2, are 7-0 on the road this season and have won eight consecutive contests overall.
Indiana beat Philadelphia at home on Friday, 90-77, behind a stellar all-around game from Ron Artest. The forward contributed 20 points, eight assists, seven rebounds, four blocks and four steals.
Jermaine O'Neal added 21 points and six blocks for the Pacers, who can match their franchise-best nine-game winning streak set November 2-22, 2002.
The Western Conference-leading Lakers are a perfect 9-0 here this season and have won five straight games overall. With a win on Sunday, they will set a new Los Angeles-era record for consecutive regular-season home wins.
On Friday, the Lakers beat San Antonio here, 103-87, despite a subpar game from Shaquille O'Neal, who had seven points and eight rebounds in his return from a strained right calf.
Karl Malone had 10 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists for his first triple-double since 1999 and the fourth of his Hall of Fame career. He is the first 40-year-old to accomplish the feat.
Kobe Bryant and Gary Payton added 17 points apiece for Los Angeles, which is 3-0 on a four-game homestand.
The Lakers have won the last four meetings between the teams and six of seven encounters.
