Recap | Boxscore

SEATTLE (Ticker) -- The Seattle SuperSonics try to avoid falling to .500 for the first time this season on Saturday when they open a three-game homestand against the Houston Rockets at Key Arena.

The SuperSonics won six of their first eight games this season but have lost four of the last five. They have not been .500 or worse since the end of last season, which they finished 40-42.

Seattle has dropped consecutive games for the second time this season after an 98-81 road loss to the Utah Jazz on Friday.

Brent Barry scored 20 points and Vladimir Radmanovic added 14 for the Sonics, who shot just 40 percent (28-of-70) despite making 10-of-24 3-pointers.

Seattle played without second-leading scorer Rashard Lewis, who left the team because of the death of his brother. He will rejoin the team for Saturday's game.

Houston has lost consecutive games for the first time this season after a 103-74 defeat against the Sacramento Kings on Friday.

Cuttino Mobley scored 17 points and Steve Francis added 15 for the Rockets, who made just 28-of-77, shooting below 40 percent for the second straight game.

Houston fell to 1-3 on its five-game road trip and has lost five of its past seven games away from home.

The Rockets and Sonics split four meetings last season, with each team winning once at home and once on the road.
