AUBURN HILLS, Michigan (Ticker) -- The Detroit Pistons try for a fifth straight victory Sunday when they host the New Orleans Hornets in a matchup of two of the top teams in the Eastern Conference.

Detroit and New Orleans have identical 9-4 records, and the Pistons have used some terrific play from Chauncey Billups in their streak. Billups scored 23 points in Friday's 94-85 triumph over New York.

Richard Hamilton scored 21 points and Ben Wallace blocked nine shots as Detroit improved to 5-1 at home. Billups made 6-of-14 shots and is averaging 26.0 points in his last four games.

New Orleans had a four-game winning streak snapped with Friday's 76-75 loss to Indiana. Rookie David West missed an open layup at the buzzer following an out-of-bounds play.

Baron Davis, who hugged West immediately after the miss, had another huge night with 33 points for New Orleans. Davis is averaging 25.2 points and 8.1 assists while logging over 40 minutes a night.

The Hornets are 4-1 on the road against Eastern Conference opponents.

The teams split four meetings last season with each winning once at home. The Pistons are 3-6 in their last nine home games against the Hornets.
