BOSTON (Ticker) -- Greg Myers homered and drove in four runs and Chris Woodward hit a two-run homer as the Toronto Blue Jays snapped a four-game losing streak with an 11-6 victory over the Boston Red Sox.

Myers had a two-run single in the second, and RBI single in the third inning a solo homer in the ninth as Toronto ended Boston's seven-game winning streak.

Woodward chased starter John Burkett (1-1) with two outs in the third when he sent 1-1 pitch over the "Green Monster" for his first home run of the season and a 7-0 lead. The homer came just after two miltary planes flew over the stadium.

"I heard them coming but I didn't have enough time to call time out," Burkett said about the planes. "He was already set so I basically said, '(forget) it.' And hopefully I'll just get a pretty good pitch and he gave me a pretty good one to pitch."

"I think he was expecting me just kind of stand there because most guys when that happens - I've seen it happen a few times - the batter will just call time out," Woodward said. "I don't know if that affected him but I just told myself, 'Ok, just make sure you see it.'"

Toronto starter Cory Lidle (3-2) was less than sharp as he allowed six runs and eight hits in six innings for the win. He threw 95 pitches, walking one and striking out four.

"I thought early on he had his real good sinker going and his good curveball," Blue Jays manager Carlos Tosca said of Lidle. "The one thing that the Red Sox do is that they continue to have good at-bats and it kind of wears down on you a little bit.

But in the last inning and a half or so his sinker kind of got away from him a little bit and his curveball wasn't as sharp. He got us through six innings, which was a bonus for us."

Vernon Wells hit his fourth homer of the season in the sixth inning for a 9-3 lead and Dave Berg hit his second of 2003 in the eighth for Toronto, which won for the third time in seven meetings with Boston this season.

Blue Jays third baseman Eric Hinske tied his career high with four hits.

Burkett was tagged for seven runs and eight hits as Boston fell to 60-48 all time on Patriots Day.

"He did not have location," Red Sox manager Grady Little said of Burkett. "He was just missing with a lot of pitches, creating situations where he had to come in there to get more off the plate than he wanted to get. And the results were not good today."

Toronto grabbed a 2-0 lead in the second when Hinske had an RBI double and scored on Myers' single.

The rally in the third began with a two-out walk to Carlos Delgado, who was Toronto's only starter without a hit. Burkett hit Josh Phelps with an 0-1 pitch and Hinske lined a two-run double into left-center field to make it 4-0. Myers hit a ground ball past Burkett for a run-scoring single before Woodward homered.

Shea Hillenbrand had a two-run single in the bottom of the fourth, but Shannon Stewart responded with an RBI single in the fifth to give Toronto an 8-2 advantage.

Bill Mueller, who made his first career appearance at shorstop in the ninth inning, had an RBI triple in the ninth to cut the lead to 8-3. Damian Jackson started at shortstop as Nomar Garciaparra was given the day off.

Manny Ramirez, who had four hits, singled off Lidle to start the sixth and after David Ortiz grounded into a forceout, Hillenbrand doubled down the left field line. Woodward then allowed Trot Nixon's ground ball go underneath his glove and David Ortiz and Hillenbrand scored to pull the Red Sox within 9-5.

Jason Varitek had an RBI double before Lidle prevented further damage by retiring Jackson on a popout and striking out Johnny Damon.

Rookie Aquilino Lopez, Cliff Politte and Kelvim Escobar each tossed a scoreless inning for Toronto.
