BOSTON (Ticker) -- Things are going so well for the Boston Red Sox, even the bullpen is contributing.

Nomar Garciaparra tied the game with a two-run double in the bottom of the seventh inning and won it with a leadoff homer in the ninth as the Red Sox extended their winning streak to seven games with a 6-5 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays.

Boston rallied from a five-run deficit against Blue Jays ace Roy Halladay, scoring two runs in the sixth and three in the seventh. Garciaparra tied it at 5-5 with a one-out double down the left field line.

The All-Star shortstop won it in the ninth, sending a 2-1 pitch from Cliff Politte (0-2) over the "Green Monster" and off the light tower for his fifth homer of the season and 150th of his career.

"I was just thinking about getting a good pitch to drive, and I was fortunate enough to get one," he said. "I didn't know if it was going to hit off the wall, but I'm glad it went out so we can go home."

The Red Sox would not have had a chance to rally, if not for their bullpen, which combined for three perfect innings. Ramiro Mendoza pitched the seventh and Mike Timlin (3-0) finished up for the win.

Boston's relievers entered the game with an ERA of 5.70 but lowered it three-tenths of a run with three dominating innings. They have combined for 13 1/3 consecutive scoreless frames.

"They've been throwing the ball well," Red Sox starter Casey Fossum said. "Everybody struggles now and then throughout the season, and they got it out of the way. Now, they're unstoppable."

Jeremy Giambi hit a solo homer and Trot Nixon went 3-for-4 with an RBI for the Red Sox, who kept pace with the New York Yankees, staying within two games of first place in the American League East.

The Red Sox have won seven straight after losing the opener of a nine-game homestand to Baltimore. During the streak, they have outscored opponents, 40-19.

"There's an air of confidence in that dugout," Red Sox manager Grady Little said. "There's not much letdown in there."

Boston fell in an early hole when Shannon Stewart scored on second baseman Todd Walker's error in the first inning.

Rookie Reed Johnson added an RBI single in the second, Mike Bordick smacked a two-run double in the fourth and Chris Woodward stroked an RBI double in the sixth to stake Halladay to a 5-0 lead.

Halladay allowed four singles over five scoreless innings before running into trouble. The All-Star righthander gave up a run on four hits in the sixth and three runs on four hits in the seventh before being pulled.

"It was going well," said Halladay, who yielded five runs and 11 hits with six strikeouts in 6 1/3 innings. "I just got to a point where I just kind of hit a wall."

Halladay remained winless in 11 career appearances at Fenway Park as the Blue Jays dropped their fourth straight and 10th in 11 games following a 5-3 start.

Kevin Millar began Boston's comeback with an RBI double in the sixth and Nixon followed with a run-scoring single to make it 5-2.

Giambi then started the seventh with a solo homer. He had been just 3-for-16 on the homestand before increasing his batting average to .158 with his second home run of the year.

"I think that lit a spark under everyone," Little said.

Jason Varitek followed with a single before Johnny Damon chopped a double over the head of first baseman Carlos Delgado, putting runners at second and third. After Walker grounded out, Garciaparra lined the first pitch down the left field line to tie it.

"Today was a team win," Garciaparra said. "You're down five, it's easy to hold your head down and take it to the house, but nobody did."
