BOSTON (Ticker) -- Todd Walker and Trot Nixon each drove in two runs as the Boston Red Sox scored five times in the bottom of the third and Derek Lowe battled through five innings in a 7-2 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays.

Walker and Nixon had two hits apiece for Boston, which extended the longest current winning streak in the American League to six games.

Massachusetts native Tanyon Sturtze (2-1) started the third inning by hitting Jason Varitek with an 0-1 pitch before Johnny Damon lined a double to left field. Walker drove a 2-1 offering off the "Green Monster" in left field for a double, plating Varitek and Damon.

Nixon followed by grounding a 2-2 pitch past diving first baseman Carlos Delgado and into the right field corner for a triple and 4-0 lead. Bill Mueller walked and stole second base as catcher Greg Myers' throw went into center field, allowing Nixon to score.

Lowe gave up two runs and seven hits in improving to 4-7 lifetime against the Blue Jays. He threw 104 pitches, walking three and striking out five.
