MINNEAPOLIS (Ticker) -- The Minnesota Twins are starting to look dangerous while the Detroit Tigers continue to look like every team's favorite opponent.

Corey Koskie had three hits and drove in two runs to lead the Twins to their fifth straight win, 4-2 over the dreadful Tigers.

Detroit has lost three in a row to fall to 1-12 and has dropped the last 14 meetings with the defending American League Central Division champions.

Rick Reed (1-2) pitched six innings and allowed both runs and six hits while striking out five.

"Reed really battled tonight," Twins manager Ron Gardenhire said. "It wasn't his greatest night, but he ran out there and gave everything he had. The bullpen then came in and did the job."

Juan Rincon got the first two outs of the seventh inning, walking two. He was relieved by Johan Santana, who got four more outs.

Eddie Guardado pitched a perfect ninth for his sixth save, four of which have come against Detroit.

The Twins had their way with Tigers starter Adam Bernero (0-3), who allowed four runs and 10 hits in 5 2/3 innings. Bernero walked two without recording a strikeout.

The Tigers did their scoring in the fifth on an RBI double by former Twin Matt Walbeck and an RBI single by Bobby Higginson.

Walbeck's RBI was his first of the season, and his 1-for-4 night raised his batting average to .083. Detroit had only one player in the lineup, second baseman Ramon Santiago, end the game with an average above the .230 mark.

"I am scratching my head trying to figure it out," Tigers manager Alan Trammell said. "I don't have any answers."

Jacque Jones of Minnesota went 2-for-4 to extend his hitting streak to 10 games and had his third stolen base of the season. Bobby Kielty went 1-for-3 and has hit in all seven games he has played.

"I am getting good at-bats," Kielty said. "I have been working hard in the cages. That is the biggest thing for me, working hard in the cage."

The Twins have outscored the Tigers, 24-8, in their five games this season.
