Anaheim hands the ball to Scot Shields (4-6, 2.93), who is 0-2 in his last four starts. He is 3-6 with a 4.14 ERA as a starter. Shields allowed three hits in eight scoreless innings Tuesday but did not earn a decision in a 2-1, 11-inning win over Seattle. The righthander, a 38th-round pick of Anaheim in 1997, is 1-0 with a 2.60 ERA in eight relief appearances against the Rangers.
