After getting outscored, 17-2, in its three-game series with the Montreal Expos, Atlanta has scored 25 runs in a pair of wins over the Marlins. The Braves bounced back from Saturday's 17-1 loss with a 13-4 victory Sunday. Andruw Jones drove in four runs, Rafael Furcal had four hits and Gary Sheffield belted a two-run homer as Atlanta pounded out 15 hits. Florida had 23 hits in Saturday's blowout, but managed just eight Sunday as Mike Lowell and Juan Encarnacion had two hits apiece. Russ Ortiz (0-1, 4.50 ERA) makes his second start for the Braves. Acquired from San Francisco on December 17 for lefthander Damian Moss and minor league pitcher Manuel Mateo, Ortiz allowed four runs and five hits in six innings of Thursday's 4-0 loss to Montreal. Ortiz is 3-2 with a 2.54 ERA in seven career starts against the Marlins. He faced Florida twice last year, going 1-1 with a 3.21 ERA. Carl Pavano (0-1, 7.50) also pitched poorly in his first start, giving up five runs and seven hits in six innings of an 9-2 loss to the Philadelphia Phillies on Wednesday. Pavano is 1-1 with a 5.76 career ERA in six appearances - four starts - against the Braves.
